At Glenisla Cottage, we’ve considered the little things to help you feel at home from the moment you arrive. After a long journey, we want you to unwind, relax, and not worry about the essentials that come with our self-catering accommodation.

Below, we’ve outlined exactly what’s included and what isn’t, so you can plan ahead with confidence. Many of our guests like to schedule an online grocery delivery to coincide with their arrival. Knowing what’s already available can make it easier to plan your order and ensure your stay at Glenisla Cottage starts smoothly.

At Glenisla Cottage, we provide the holiday home essentials you'll need for your stay, including toilet rolls and liquid soap in the bathroom. In the kitchen, you will find most basic ingredients such as salt and pepper, cooking oil, tea bags, along with various utensils, pots, and pans that you might require during your self-catering accommodation experience. Please note that we do not supply items with a short shelf life, such as butter and milk.

Glenisla Cottage features a well-equipped kitchen that includes an electric oven and a combination microwave oven & grill, making it perfect for those seeking convenience. The kitchen is also fitted with a six ring electric hob and an overhead extractor hood. Additionally, you will find a kettle and toaster. Coffee enthusiasts will appreciate the Nescafé Dolce Gusto coffee machine, with a selection of pods typically found in the basket; each pair includes a coffee pod along with a milk or creamer pod. For those who prefer a more traditional brew, there's also a coffee machine designed for ground coffee use, as well as a Dualit milk frother. Completing the kitchen setup is an upright fridge/freezer, ensuring that all your self-catering accommodation needs are met.

At Glenisla Cottage, we offer off-road parking for 1 estate or 2 small vehicles. Additionally, there is parking available in front of the house if needed. While we don’t provide dedicated rapid car charging facilities at this self-catering accommodation, we do have external 13 amp sockets that can be used to trickle charge a vehicle if required, ensuring you have all the holiday home essentials you need for a comfortable stay.

Glenisla Cottage is equipped with full-fibre broadband directly to the house, offering speeds of at least 70Mb/s. This ensures that all holiday home essentials are met, providing seamless options for TV streaming, gaming, and video conferencing, should you wish to work during your stay. Our self-catering accommodation features a Roku stick for TV streaming, with all free-to-air accounts already logged in. However, you can also log into your personal paid services if you prefer. Just remember to log out of these before you leave.

Glenisla Cottage is equipped with gas fired central heating, which is programmed via Nest, allowing it to come on and go off at various times throughout the day. If you wish to adjust the temperature, simply turn the dial in the hallway. For added comfort, this self-catering accommodation also features underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathroom. While the kitchen system typically requires no adjustments, you can easily switch the bathroom heating on or off by tapping the pad located on the wall outside the bathroom, ensuring all your holiday home essentials are taken care of.

The living room of Glenisla Cottage features a modern, eco-friendly lean-burn log burner, designed to create a cosy and inviting atmosphere. For your convenience, the fire will be set before your arrival, ensuring a warm welcome for your stay. 

To light the fire yourself, we recommend the following steps: 

Start with some rolled-up newspaper, a couple of firelighters, and a few sticks of kindling. 

Place larger logs on top. 

Pull out the bottom vents to draw in air, helping the fire to establish quickly. 

Once the fire is burning steadily, close the vents slightly to prevent it from burning too fast. 

The log burner is equipped with a heat-operated fan on top, which efficiently distributes warmth throughout the room, enhancing your comfort during your stay in this self-catering accommodation.

Glenisla Cottage features both an integrated dishwasher and a washer/dryer, making it a perfect choice for your self-catering accommodation needs. We provide a few wash tabs and dishwasher tabs, which should be sufficient for your stay. 

You can find the instructions for both appliances in the folder located on the coffee table. Additionally, there is an airer in the under stairs cupboard, along with an iron and ironing board, which are essential holiday home essentials.

At Glenisla Cottage, we provide essential holiday home essentials, including bath and hand towels for up to four guests, conveniently placed in each bedroom for your use. Every bed in our self-catering accommodation is equipped with extra-comfy mattresses and luxurious mattress toppers to ensure a restful night’s sleep. To cater to different preferences, we’ve included both firm and soft pillows for each bed. For an added touch of warmth and comfort, blankets are also supplied in every bedroom, perfect for creating a cosy retreat.

Glenisla Cottage is equipped with wired-in combined smoke and carbon monoxide detectors located in the kitchen and on the landing. As part of our holiday home essentials, the kitchen also includes a fire extinguisher, fire blanket, and first aid kit for your safety. Additionally, we provide a list of emergency contacts and phone numbers in the folder on the coffee table, ensuring you have everything you need during your stay in our self-catering accommodation.
